TANYA KIANG
Senior Curator (Photo Museum Ireland, Dublin, IRE)
Tanya Kiang has led Photo Museum Ireland since 1998, becoming Senior Curator in 2022. Photo Museum Ireland is a publicly funded organisation that is leading the development of photography and lens based art in Ireland. With over twenty years experience, Kiang has curated exhibitions by many of the world’s major photographers, and has a keen interest in developing the audience for contemporary photography through publications, outreach and experimental digital projects. She is a jury member on numerous international photography panels and is a regular reviewer at international photofestivals.
Projects include curated exhibitions for Irish Museum of Modern Art, for New York Photo Festival, Fotohof Salzburg and Three Shadows Gallery, Beijing; monographs on Helen Hooker O’Malley, Pete Smyth, and Miriam O’Connor; partner on “A Woman’s Work” Creative Europe platform; and Research and development of an online Timeline of Photography in Ireland. Most recently, she curated and produced the commission and national touring exhibition of work by Lorraine Tuck exploring autism, neurodiversity and family life in contemporary Ireland.
