Global Director, Digital Projects & eCommerce (Magnum Photos, U.K)

Michael Sargeant is the Global Director of Digital Projects & eCommerce at Magnum Photos. He began his career at the esteemed photo agency in 2018 as a Creative Producer, spearheading the development of Magnum Photos’ video-on-demand education programme, Magnum Learn, producing courses with Alec Soth, Gregory Halpern, Bieke Depoorter, Matt Black and more. He now oversees a team that undertakes a wide scope of activity ranging from commercial video production, product development, retail and e-commerce – including the bi-annual Square Print Sale – to marketing and audience development.

Previously, he worked for FORMAT Festival as a key producer and curator, working closely with photographers and artists across multiple editions of the festival. He also held the position as Assistant Curator at QUAD, producing numerous public programmes, exhibitions and residencies, with a particular focus on working alongside emerging/early-career artists.

He is interested in seeing a wide-range of work, but particularly projects that are ongoing or require direct feedback. He is also interested in helping artists develop their professional practice, sharing knowledge and strategies to help nurture and sustain a career within the arts.
