
ÂNGELA FERREIRA
Curator & Artistic Director (SOLAR FotoFestival, Portugal)
Ângela Ferreira (Portugal), also known as Berlinde, is an artist, curator, and researcher specializing in photography and contemporary visual culture. She holds a PhD in Art Education with a focus on Visual Communication from the University of Minho (Portugal), as well as a Master's in Photography from the Utrecht School of Arts, supported by a merit scholarship from the Dutch government.
Ferreira was a co-founder and the artistic director of the Encontros da Imagem Photography Festival and played a key role in the development of GNRation in Braga during the Braga European Youth Capital.
As a curator, she has contributed to major international events such as the Beijing Photography Biennale, the Korea International Photo Festival, and Goa Photo. Her work has been exhibited in prestigious institutions, including the Museum of Tomorrow (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), FIESP (São Paulo), MAC Dragão do Mar (Ceará, Brazil), and the Museum of Bogotá (Colombia), among others.
Ferreira is currently the Artistic Director of the SOLAR FotoFestival and a member of the Curatorial Council of the Museum of Photography of Fortaleza. She is also an Assistant Professor at the University of Minho and Lusófona University (Portugal), where she focuses on hybrid forms of photography. In addition, she founded Nervo - Photobook Observatory, a platform dedicated to the critical reflection on visual narratives in photography books.
